I guess if I didn't want a story like this, I should have listened to the "Crushes. Book 1 Invisible Emmie This debut novel from US cartoonist Terri Libenson follows two girls who could not seem more different: shy, observa. I got through the whole book very quickly, and took no breaks at all. However, for the story it had, it was well written and was very entertaining. The characters seem built off of the fact that they're quiet/popular, rather than having intricate personalities. I think there was too much of that "I want to be noticed by a boy, how great it would be if this boy would like me back" type stuff that is in 9/10 books I've read. Not too moving, a bit inappropriate for a young child, but not horrible. I don't usually read books that have that many pictures, but I thought the cover looked pretty nice, and the back summary seemed all right. This book was sold at the Scholastic Book Fair at my school. ![]()
